Slightly Stoopid
Slightly Stoopid

Based out of Ocean Beach, California, Slightly Stoopid has been in the music business ever since the lead singers Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald were signed by Sublime front man Bradley Nowell in 1995. At the time Doughty and McDonald were still in high school.

While on stage, Slightly Stoopid performs a mix of reggae and punk-rock music. Through all their successes, their devout fans follow them on tour in places such as Australia, Japan, Guam, Portugal, Amsterdam, Denmark, the U.K and the Dominican Republic.

Following all these tours, they are currently on their “Legalize It” tour. On June 18th Slightly Stoopid will be making a pit stop in Jacksonville, Oregon at our very own Britt Amphitheater.  The concert will start at 6:30 p.m. and admission is between $29 and $36.

“This will be a fun opportunity for the Rogue Valley to have a wonderful band come to the area. It will not only benefit the teens of the valley, but also the community as a whole. Overall it will be a great experience,” AHS sophomore Laney Delgado said.

Believe it or not, S.S. is a white reggae band and I know what you’re thinking: “What are they? A bunch of crazed Caucasian boys with blond dreadlocks doing imitations of Bob Marley?”  The truth is, according to an interview with Miles Doughty and Peter Lindbald, Doughty and the band have done their research and have been studying reggae almost all of their lives.

For those who like to get down and party to reggae-pop styles of music, Slightly Stoopid is the band for you. The Britt Festival has hosted many great bands and solo artists, but Slightly Stoopid is not just another band coming to Britt. Instead, it is truly a night to look forward to.
