Elias Opgenorth was born in the small coastal town of Sitka, Alaska on December 30^th 1993.  Being the son of a fisherman, Elias gained a love for fishing and the outdoors at an early age.  Some of his favorite hobbies while living in Alaska were camping, fishing off his father’s boat, traveling from island to island and hiking.  In the summer of 2000, Elias’ family packed up their belongings and moved from the small town in Alaska to Ashland, Oregon.  The move was quite drastic for young Elias.  He went from 25 miles of road in the town to living along interstate 5.  In Ashland, Elias took up many sports in his youth and began to excel academically.  Through middle school, Elias ran cross country and track and maintained a 4.0 gpa. Now, Elias is a sophomore at Ashland High School and enjoys snowboarding, kayaking, biking and golf.
